Why UVA Law, Testimonials, & Academic Allies
Why UVA Law?
Housed in the small college town of Charlottesville, UVA Law is a vibrant and welcoming community for LGBTQ+ students. We're sure you have your apprehensions about just how open and accepting law school can be for LGBTQ+ students. The reality is that no school, including UVA Law, is perfect, and there is much that can be done to improve support for our community. However, Lambda has been an important vehicle for pushing for those changes and continues to commit itself to advocating for the needs of our community. By getting involved in Lambda, you not only connect with the larger LGBTQ+ community, but join our efforts to push UVA LAW in the direction of progress.

Lambda has been an essential part of my law school experience at UVA. The organization fosters a sense of community among LGBTQ+ students, connects those students with opportunities for career advancement, and draws attention to issues facing the LGBTQ+ community in the legal profession and beyond. We hope you will join our community and our efforts to build a better legal profession for everyone.

UVA Law offers a superb education, but there's always room for improvement when it comes to Black queer experiences on campus. Lambda has been an incredible resource to address these problems, as well as offer a social space to connect with other incredible members of our community!
